Aims for the day:
· Supporting family rapport and communication
· Reminding people that it’s okay not be okay and we need to show ourselves and each other kindness and compassion
· Helping people to understand a little bit more about how our minds and feelings work
· Equipping people with tools to cope better with big feelings or stressful situations
The audience is families with school age (primary and secondary) children. There will be provision for pre-school children in the plenary session and in the parents and carers session – toys and books.
There will be interactive boards around the church where people can add “top tips”, what works well for them.
The church would be the main plenary room. The side rooms and the church would be used for the break out sessions.
We would cap the number at 100 (estimated 50/50 in terms of adults and children but we can be flexible about this). There will also be observers from the District as they are hoping to run other similar events in the future.
The plan is to provide publicity and open bookings to Trinity and circuit families first (15th March) then open to the wider District from 1st April. There is also a plan to leaflet houses on the St George’s estate (possibly combing with Easter services leaflet).
